🎉 What’s new

Redesigned signup and login page. You probably already noticed a difference when logging in. In addition to a redesign, we added single sign on (SSO) to make your life just a little easier. Read more about SSO.

📍 Roadmap

Watch for new features and submit feedback. We’re happy to share the awesome features we have planned on our roadmap portal! Small disclaimers: Our portal doesn’t cover everything we’re working on, details are subject to change, and features aren’t listed in any specific order.

🩹 Bug fixes

Log out of Dubsado. We fixed the issue where the logout button wasn’t showing if you had a large number of brands.

No save point needed. Duplicating an installment in a payment plan wouldn’t let you save the payment plan. We fixed this, so now payment plans can be saved.

Look at all those clients. If you had a large client list, Projects >> New Project wouldn’t load all your clients. Now, your entire client list will load correctly when creating a new project.

Where do I pay? With Stripe, duplicate payment buttons were appearing on the invoices. This is fixed, so now you’ll only see one set of pay now buttons.

No more mismatched appointments. Sometimes, the “add to calendar” link on an email showed a different appointment time. We fixed this, so adding an appointment to your calendar will always show the correct time.

Resolved Groundhog Day emails. Reminder emails on an invoice’s payment plan defaulted to today’s date. This is no longer the case, so reminder emails will send on the correct date that you choose.

Edit payment plans again. Editing the payment plan used with “after invoice installment paid” in a workflow would remove the payment plan from the workflow. We fixed this, so workflows will either continue normally or you’ll get a warning message.

Fixed duplicate accounts. When logging in with SSO, Google emails with capital letters were creating a duplicate Dubsado account. We fixed this, so SSO is no longer case-sensitive.

Product update

New redesigned login. Same familiar Dubsado.

First impressions matter.

That’s why we are excited to announce that we’ve redesigned our signup and login page for a more seamless and user-friendly experience. It's the Dubsado you know and trust, now with an upgraded experience!

What’s new?

We’ve made a few updates to Dubsado to enhance your experience:

  • Added single sign on (SSO) with Google.
  • Simplified affiliate tracking.
  • Faster sign-up.

Added single sign on (SSO) with Google

Single sign on (SSO) lets you log in with one set of credentials (like your Google account). That way, your account stays secure and reduces the number of passwords to remember.

With SSO, it takes just a click to log in and access your account! Plus, you can seamlessly switch login methods. Single sign on or email and password? Whichever method you prefer, Dubsado does both. Read our article for more information.

Simplified affiliate tracking

Being an affiliate means you can share Dubsado with others and make money from it! This is a great opportunity if you already love using Dubsado. With this update, the process is more user-friendly for your referrals.

In the past, a coupon code field was present on the signup page. This created user confusion with those signing up.

Moving forward, the coupon code field is no longer present during signup. Instead, we recommend sharing your affiliate link with your audience.

Clicking your affiliate link will automatically apply the affiliate benefits to your referral's trial account, so they don't need to input the code themselves when signing up. Users may still input the code when upgrading to a paid subscription.

Faster sign-up

New users to Dubsado will experience an upgraded sign-up flow that guides them in setting up a brand.

Why we developed it

Yes, we wanted our signup and login pages to look good. But more importantly, we wanted to increase your login options and improve the experience for new brands.

The redesign assists in helping us create features that suit your business and requires less energy from you to get started with Dubsado!

🎉 What’s new

Updated our CSV export. We updated the CSV export twice — admin multi-users can now use the customizable export and you can now export client custom-mapped fields.

🩹 Bug fixes

Remember to save your work. When exiting out of a form, a popup appeared to save changes even if you didn’t make any edits. This is no longer an issue, so the popup only shows if you’ve made an edit.

Fixed daylight savings. Timezones in Mexico were inconsistent due to no longer observing daylight savings. Now, daylight savings won’t be an issue in the future.

It’s my invoice, I’ll pay if I want to. Certain invoices on a proposal turned on autopay even with a disabled autopay setting. This is now fixed.

No more client mysteries. Free response fields on a lead capture form weren’t populating in the notification email. Now, so you’ll see client responses in your email.

🩹 Bug fixes

Solved the iPhone debate. Dubsado wasn’t loading from an iPhone 13 Pro or Mini on iOS 16.4. We’ve fixed this, so now Dubsado can be accessed on all phones.

View appointments at the right time. After a client booked an appointment, the Add event to your calendar link in the email confirmation page wasn’t showing the correct timezone. Now, the correct timezones will appear.

Increase minimums to the moon. Proposals with a minimum package quantity of two or more didn’t show an accurate quantity in the invoice. This is no longer an issue and quantities appear correctly.

Sign contracts at the right moment. For proposals with contracts, we found that you could sign the contract before submitting the proposal. We’ve addressed this so you must submit the proposal first.

No more static income categories. Editing an income category from the Reporting >> Transactions page wouldn’t save. This is fixed, so you can now recategorize as much as you want.

Schedule appointments even if the future is TBD. Some schedulers with invoices weren’t submitting correctly if a proposal with a TBD dated payment plan was included. Now, schedulers work regardless of what form or payment plan is attached.

Fixed mixed-up credit cards. Changing your payment information in Settings >> Billing didn’t update on the page itself. This is fixed, so updated cards appear correctly.

Available on all plans

Hi there,

You need more than the basics. That’s why we’ve updated how you export your data from Dubsado. 🎉

Now introducing: A more robust method to downloading project or client information into one CSV file.

Download client data in one click

Customize what you export

Pick and choose the information you want to collect. Invoices, custom-mapped fields, or project locations are all fair game.

Gather data quickly

Build reports, generate mailing addresses, or add emails to an email marketing platform — whatever reason you need data for, you can quickly download it to your laptop.

Why we developed it

We want to help you automate your business so you can concentrate on more important things. Manually transferring data out of Dubsado takes time and effort that we don’t want you to waste time doing it.

🎉 What’s new

None for now, but we’re always developing new ideas behind the scenes. 🤫

📍 Roadmap

Watch for new features and submit feedback. We’re happy to share the awesome features we have planned on our roadmap portal! Small disclaimers: Our portal doesn’t cover everything we’re working on, details are subject to change, and features aren’t listed in any specific order.

🩹 Bug fixes

Fixed repeat logins. Previously, clients who clicked “back to portal” went back to the portal login page even if they were logged in. Now, they’ll go to their portal home screen. Clients who aren’t logged in will still go to the login page.

Affiliate code freedom. Some of you couldn’t update your affiliate code. We fixed this so everyone can update their code.

Go on perfect dates. The date format always showed as MMDDYY regardless of your location. Now, the date format adjusts depending on your location settings.

No need to scroll. Some invoices had an unnecessary scroll bar on the Pay Now button. The scroll bar is now removed.

Stopped anonymous tasks. If you assigned a user a task, the user’s name wouldn’t display in the Assignee field. This is fixed so that the assigned user's name is always displayed.

Accurate time zones. Project and appointment dates weren’t displaying the timezone based on your setting in Settings >> International settings. This is no longer an issue — dates will match your timezone setting again.

🎉 What’s new

Updated privacy policy. We updated our Google, Meta, and Twitter disclosures. We also added data processors Twitter, Inc, Meta Platforms, Inc, Mixpanel, LLC, and Xero Ltd. Please review our updated privacy policy.

Editing or deleting transactions in Reporting >> Transactions will now stop autopay. A warning popup will appear to confirm that you want to stop autopay on any invoices with payment plans.

🩹 Bug fixes

Answer multiple-choice questions. Clients could submit forms without answering a required multiple-choice question. We fixed this, so clients can’t skip the required questions.

Secure deposits again from a scheduler. If you attached a lead capture form and required an invoice with a scheduler, the invoice didn’t automatically become the primary invoice. In addition, clients couldn’t pay to book an appointment. Both are fixed, so clients can pay again and the invoice will become the primary invoice in the client’s project.

Browse all settings on mobile. On mobile, you couldn’t scroll down to see more form settings. We addressed this, so all form settings should appear in mobile view.

No more long sentences on mobile. Certain fonts in text boxes prevented line breaks on mobile, causing one long sentence that didn’t show correctly. Now, there are line breaks so all text appears on mobile.

Set higher minimums. On a proposal, setting a package minimum quantity of two or more wouldn’t show accurately on the invoice total. Now, the invoice total shows the correct amount.

Banned time travel on project dates. Depending on your time zone, some project dates appeared a day earlier than what the client entered. This is fixed, so the date the client enters matches the correct time zones for both you and your client.

Fixed off-timed events. The exact times didn’t appear if a Project Start Date and Project End Date were within 24 hours of each other. The time now shows correctly.

Stopped backward start and end dates. Forms were getting submitted even if the end date was earlier than the start date. This is no longer an issue so forms can’t get submitted.

🎉 What’s new

Check out the new autopay enrollment settings! This new feature allows you to require or restrict automatic payments. Get more information here.

Updated tags within a project: Tags in an archived project now display an “Archived” badge next to them to differentiate them from an active tag. You can unarchive previously archived tags. Tags now have a 30 character limit. Basic users are no longer able to delete tags under Projects >> Customize.

📍 Roadmap

🩹 Bug fixes

No more disappearing acts on Safari. When editing forms on Safari, the spacer element disappeared. The spacer element now appears on all browsers.

Chronological payment plan. Previously, fixed dates on payment plans always appeared before other installments. Now, payment plans will automatically list installments by order of date.

Smoothed out drag-and-drop on Firefox. When editing forms on Firefox, the page didn’t scroll down when you dragged elements. This is fixed, so Firefox now works as expected.

No more changing the past. Clients were able to reschedule a past appointment. Now, only future appointments can be rescheduled. If clients try to reschedule a past appointment, a banner error will appear.

Edit tasks from any view. Tasks couldn’t be edited if opened through the client portal. This is fixed, so editing tasks will work as expected.

Restart unfinished workflows. Archiving a project accidentally completed the workflow instead of pausing it. Now, archiving a project will only pause the workflow again. Note that unarchiving a project won’t automatically restart the workflow — reactivate the workflow through the Projects >> Workflows tab.

New feature

Get paid easier with autopay enrollment settings

Charis avatar
Shared by Charis • January 09, 2023

You asked. We listened.

One of our most requested features is now live! Start using the new autopay enrollment settings today. 🙌

Customize autopay and say goodbye to chasing down client payments

Instead of leaving it up to your clients to enroll in autopay, you now have more freedom to decide what’s best for your business.

More control over how you get paid

You can require clients to enroll in autopay, let the choice be up to your client, or even completely remove the autopay option.

Reduce missed payments

Require clients to enroll in autopay so they get charged automatically.

Why we developed it

We wanted to give you more flexibility to decide how you want your clients to pay!

Previously, autopay relied on your clients choosing to enroll. This update gives you the ability to require clients to enroll in autopay, so their credit card gets charged automatically when a payment is due.

Alternatively, you may not want the autopay option to show up at all. You now have the choice of removing autopay entirely, so your client can’t enroll when you don’t want them to.

We can’t wait to see how the autopay feature impacts your business!

Bug Fixes Dec 23, 2022

🎉 What’s new

  • We’re pushing back the date to switch to the new form builder. We don’t have a new deadline yet, but we will update you with plenty of time when we do!
  • If you’re currently using the old form builder, we still recommend using the new form builder to ensure access to our latest features. If you don’t have any custom code, your forms are not impacted — switching to the new form builder will not erase your current forms nor will you have to remake them. If your forms have custom code, click here for more information.
  • Updated error messages for basic users. Basic users will now see a “permission denied” error message if they try to edit or delete a task that is assigned to someone else.

📍 Roadmap

  • Watch for new features and submit feedback on our Roadmap Portal. We’re happy to share the awesome features we have planned! Small disclaimers: Our portal doesn’t cover everything we’re working on, details are subject to change, and features aren’t listed in any specific order.

🩹 Bug fixes

  • One email per client. Emails with capitalizations created multiple client entries. Now, new emails added through a lead capture form or scheduler are no longer case-sensitive and will be shown in all lowercase.
  • No more missed appointments. If your client booked an appointment that wasn’t assigned to a project, the client portal wouldn’t show the appointment date and time. The client portal now always shows the appointment details.
  • Get filled-out contracts. If you required initials on a legacy contract that was attached to a non-legacy proposal, clients could submit the contract even without the initials. This is fixed, so legacy contracts work correctly with both legacy and non-legacy proposals.
  • Freely delete files. Clients couldn’t delete files uploaded to a form before submission. Now, your clients can delete files before they submit the form.
  • View reports correctly. Negative invoices caused errors in the Transactions, Chart of Accounts, and Reports sections under the Reporting tab. Negative invoices will no longer cause data errors.
  • Have a flexible schedule. The “reschedule” link in an email wouldn’t show any availability. Rescheduling now shows your availability correctly.
  • Keep invoice items organized. Categorized invoice line items showed up as “uncategorized” when viewed in the package element in the form builder. Categories will show correctly moving forward.
  • Fixed questionable payment plan statuses. Payment plans on an invoice occasionally showed “(TBD)” instead of “unpaid”. This is fixed and invoices should show the correct status.
  • Tasks are no longer in hiding. Basic users couldn’t see files uploaded to a task if the task was assigned to another user. Now, basic users can see all tasks and task attachments, even if assigned to someone else.
  • Greet clients by name. Adding a form to a client’s profile in Utilities >> Address Book wouldn’t populate smart field information on the form. All smart fields now show up as planned.
  • No more disappearing acts. Adding a payment plan to a recurring invoice with a due date of “relative” and a trigger of “after contract signed by client” caused the payment plan to disappear. This is no longer an issue.
  • Know how much you’re paid. If you attached a proposal with an invoice to a scheduler, the remaining balance on the invoice page sometimes incorrectly displayed $0. This is fixed, so the remainder will always show the correct amount.
