We're excited to announce a new security feature to enhance the protection of your Dubsado account.
We're introducing a device verification process for users logging in with a username and password. When you log in from a new browser, you'll be asked to verify your device by clicking a link sent to your email. This helps protect your account by alerting you to potential unauthorized access attempts.
Note: This feature does not apply to those who sign in with Google, but don’t worry, you’re not missing out… Google uses their own similar verification process when you log in from a new device. Google does have two-factor authentication as well, so if you want even more protection on your Dubsado account, you can enable that on Google’s end. You can find more info about getting that set up by clicking here.
We want to remind you that if you're currently sharing your Dubsado password with others, it's time to stop this practice and instead add them as multi-users. Adding team members as multi-users with admin-level access provides similar permissions to what you have as the brand owner, but it's much safer and more secure. Each person will have their own username and password, enhancing account security and allowing for better accountability.
How does this new device verification differ from the email verification during trial sign-up?
The trial email verification confirms that you've provided a valid email address. In contrast, device verification ensures that your Dubsado account is only accessed from approved devices, enhancing your account's security.
Does device verification apply to multi-users?
Yes, multi-users will need to verify their devices using the email associated with their Dubsado account.
What if I've been sharing my login information with others?
You should never be sharing your login details with anyone, even people on your team. With this new feature, anyone trying to access your account from an unverified device won't be able to log in without access to your email for verification. We recommend using the multi-user feature instead to grant access to team members. Note: The Dubsado Team and Certified Dubsado Specialists will never ask you for your user name and password. If someone does this, please let our team know right away.
Will I need to verify my device every time I log in?
No, you'll only need to verify when accessing Dubsado from a new browser or different device. However, for added security, you'll be asked to re-verify your device once a year, even on previously approved devices.
